Senior Scholarship/Awards Night  will be held at 6 pm in Timothy C. Bleyer Auditorium.  Some scholarship recipients will not be notified that they have received a scholarship prior to this event.  All seniors and their families are invited and encouraged to attend in order to celebrate the accomplishments of the Class of 2019. 

 

 
5/ Wednesday Baccalaureate will be held at 7 pm at the Carterville First Baptist Church.  Graduates should arrive and gather by 6:45. Graduates will enter and be seated as a group. Attendance at baccalaureate is not required, but it is encouraged.  Seniors should wear graduation gowns but not caps.  
5/ Thursday

Graduation Pictures: 

  • Students who want individual pictures should arrive by 9 am.
  • A class picture will be taken at 10 am in the auxiliary gym.
  • All pictures will be taken in caps and gowns.  No decorations are allowed on caps.
  • Immediately following the group picture, graduates will walk to Tri-C to do the Graduate Hallway walk.

MANDATORY Graduation Practice:

  • Practice will be held in the competition gym, following the Tri-C Graduate Walk.
  • Students who do not attend graduation practice will not be allowed to participate in the graduation ceremony unless they have received prior approval from Mr. Rogers.

All Obligations Due:

  • All obligations such as uniforms, cafeteria account balance, library books/fines, textbooks, detentions must be taken care of before you leave graduation practice.  Graduates with remaining obligations will not be given a diploma

Senior Trip to Six Flags St. Louis.  Meet in the competition gym at 8 am.

5/ Saturday 

Graduation will be held at 7 pm in the competition gymnasium.  Graduates should start arriving at 6 pm; Graduates must be present and in the cafeteria by 6:30 pm.

  • Doors will open to the public and graduates at 6 pm.
  • General Graduation Information…
    • Participation in the graduation ceremony is a privilege, not a right.  Any senior who is suspended out of school through graduation will not be allowed to participate in the ceremony.
    • Graduation is a dressy occasion.  If assistance is needed to purchase appropriate clothing, please see a counselor.  Again, there are to be no decorations on caps.
    • A complimentary picture will be taken of you receiving your diploma from Mr. Rogers during the ceremony.  No parents will be allowed on the gym floor for this purpose.  All guests are welcome onto the floor at the completion of the ceremony.
    • Graduation is for the graduates, families, classmates, and all community members.  Enjoy the moment, but please do not do anything to distract others from enjoying the moment as well.

 

Final Thoughts for Graduates from CHS…

  • Enjoy your achievement and be proud of your accomplishments, but remember this is just one of many achievements yet to come in your lifetime.  Please make good decisions as you move forward.  Congratulations, and let’s finish this semester strong and look forward to moving into the next phase of your life!
